Rio de Janeiro Elects 46 Deputies to Brazil’s Chamber

Dr. Luizinho of the PP led with 213,904 votes. Of the 46 elected, 21 were re-elected and 10 are women.

Rio de Janeiro state elected 46 representatives to Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies, with their terms beginning on February 1, 2027. After all ballots were counted, Dr. Luizinho of the Progressive Party (PP) led the field with 213,904 votes. Twenty-one incumbents were re-elected, and 10 of the winners are women. Abstention was 23.33%. Blank ballots accounted for 5.27% and null ballots for 4.77%.

The Liberal Party (PL) won 15 seats, the Workers’ Party (PT) six and PP five. PSOL, PSDB and PSD each took four seats, PCdoB won two, and União, MDB, Solidariedade, Novo, Republicanos and PDT each secured one.
