Three people were injured in a collision with a bear on the ninth kilometre of the Kamaevka–Asino–Pervomayskoye road in Russia’s Tomsk region. The regional Interior Ministry department said the crash happened on the evening of October 5.

A 28-year-old was driving the Ford Mondeo. The car struck a bear that had entered the road, then left the carriageway, went into a ditch and overturned. Two passengers, aged 19 and 24, were also in the vehicle.

The driver and both passengers were hospitalised with injuries, the regional police department said. Neither its statement nor the RIA Novosti report gave information about the bear’s condition.
