Arctic sea ice reaches 2026 summer minimum | NASA visualization

NASA's Scientific Visualization Studio animates the change in Arctic sea ice from March 15 to September 12, 2026. NASA and the National Snow and Ice Data Center estimate the September 12 minimum at 4.60 million square kilometers (1.78 million square miles). This is a satellite-data visualization, not live footage. The original silent animation was converted to MP4 without changing its images. NASA and JAXA do not endorse LinksGraph.
