Brazil’s Liberal Party (PL) won 121 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, with members elected in 24 states and federal districts. Its largest state delegation is in Minas Gerais, where 21 lawmakers were elected. CNN Brasil said votes for Nikolas Ferreira helped drive the party’s result in the state.
The Workers’ Party (PT), with 70 seats in the lower house, elected 12 deputies from Minas Gerais and has representatives in 20 states. União Brasil won 46 seats and is present in 23 states, with its strongest showing in Bahia, where it secured six. The Social Democratic Party (PSD) won 43 seats across 17 states and also had its largest state delegation in Bahia, with six lawmakers.
The Progressive Party (PP) and the Republicans each won 41 seats. PP elected members in 21 states and did best in Rio de Janeiro, with five. The Republicans are represented in 22 states and had their strongest result in São Paulo, with six. MDB won 36 seats in 17 states, including its largest delegation in Pará, with six lawmakers.
Podemos won 27 seats in 15 states, six of them in São Paulo. PSB secured 15 seats in eight states, with its largest delegation in Ceará, where it won four. PSOL won 14 seats and is represented in six states. Six of its lawmakers came from São Paulo.
Among smaller blocs, PCdoB and PSDB each won 11 seats. PCdoB has three deputies from Bahia, while PSDB’s strongest result was four in Rio de Janeiro. Novo won 10 seats, including four in Paraná. PV won seven and PDT six. Avante and PRD each secured five seats, Solidariedade won two, and Rede and Missão won one apiece. The results underline how parties differ in both the size and geographic spread of their support.
