Miami Heat have signed Swedish wing Pelle Larsson to a four‑year, $60 million contract extension, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Friday. The deal runs through the 2030‑31 season with a mutual option for the final year.
Under the extension, Larsson will earn the rookie‑scale $2.3 million salary for the 2026‑27 season, then $13.5 million in 2027‑28, with incremental raises each year thereafter.
The 25‑year‑old showed a breakout second season in 2025‑26, increasing his scoring from 4.6 to 11.4 points per game, starting 54 of 70 games, while improving rebounds (1.7 to 3.5) and assists (1.2 to 3.4). He shot nearly 50 % from the field and 32.3 % from three‑point range.
Larsson is also Sweden’s leading national‑team player, averaging 26 points in four FIBA 2027 World Cup qualifier games, including a 31‑point performance in an upset win over Finland on Aug. 27. He posted 18.8 points and 4.4 rebounds in last summer’s EuroBasket, though Sweden went 1‑4.
The extension comes as Miami reshapes its roster after a “transformative” off‑season that saw the Heat acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis in a blockbuster trade, while sending former All‑Star Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., recent first‑round picks Kel’el Ware and Kasparas Jakucionis, and several first‑round draft assets to Milwaukee.
Miami also bolstered its shooting corps by adding veterans Klay Thompson and Tim Hardaway Jr., positioning the Heat to build around Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo and the newly‑signed Larsson as they aim for another championship run.
