Operation Firewall-2026 is examining 18 people, including 13 suspected naval personnel; two people have been arrested, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
Andhra Pradesh’s counter-intelligence wing is conducting Operation Firewall-2026 over alleged transfers of sensitive information about naval and defence sites to Pakistan-linked operatives. Eighteen people are under scrutiny, including 13 suspected Navy personnel. The Times of India reported that 12 teams carried out searches across 10 states and union territories.
In Visakhapatnam, authorities arrested Annam Sai Varaprasad, a civilian contract driver working with the Navy. Investigators suspect he passed information about defence establishments to a Pakistan-linked operative. A court remanded him in custody until October 14. Investigators are examining whether he received money.
A Navy sailor, Pradeep Mukherjee, was also arrested in Coimbatore. Investigators allege he leaked classified maritime information after being drawn into a so-called honey-trap scheme. He was transferred to Andhra Pradesh and remanded until October 14.
The investigation is continuing. Authorities are examining digital communications, financial transactions, seized devices and possible contacts with foreign intelligence operatives. The allegations remain claims by investigators; the suspects’ guilt has not been established in court.
