Finding work took nearly a month less on average in 2021–2025 than it had five years earlier, according to a report by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives on quality of life across Russian regions.
ASI’s study examines changes in healthcare, education, infrastructure and the urban environment. It is based on the agency’s annual National Quality of Life Ranking, compiled on the Russian president’s instructions. The authors compared indicators for 2021–2025 and reported positive movement in 87% of them.
The report says the average job-search period declined by 13% over that period, from nearly seven months to six. Hiring was quickest in Moscow and Ulyanovsk regions, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area–Yugra and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. In those regions, finding work took about three months on average.
Nationwide, 61.7% of people who turned to employment services for help finding suitable work found jobs. The highest employment rates among those applicants were recorded in Belgorod Region, Dagestan and Yaroslavl Region.
