Boston Bruins defeated Utah Mammoth 6-1 in an NHL regular-season game at TD Garden, with Dmitri Simashev setting up Utah’s only goal.

Boston built its lead with three goals in each of the first two periods, reaching 6-0 before Jack McBain scored for Utah in the third. David Pastrnak scored twice, while Casey Mittelstadt, Mason Lohrei, Morgan Geekie and Matthew Poitras also found the net, according to the NHL game record.

Simashev, a Russian defenseman playing for Utah, assisted on McBain’s goal alongside Barrett Hayton. Sport Express reported that after five games both clubs had six points, with Boston sixth in the Eastern Conference and Utah fourth in the West.
