Superior Electoral Court president Kassio Nunes Marques said the court received no such reports during the first round of the 2026 election.
Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court (TSE) received no reports of foreign interference during the first round of the 2026 election, its president, Kassio Nunes Marques, said at a news conference after polls closed on October 4.
Marques said voting had passed without serious incidents related to foreign interference. Speculation about possible outside involvement began circulating after the U.S. and Australian embassies suspended consular services on October 2, citing security concerns.
The diplomatic missions’ notices also cited security matters. The TSE chief’s statement concerned alerts received by the court and did not report any confirmed case of foreign interference.
