Brazil’s October soybean and corn exports forecast to fall, ANEC says

The association expects lower shipments of the two crops year over year, while sorghum and soybean-meal exports are forecast to rise.

Brazil’s soybean exports are forecast to reach 6.18 million tonnes in October, down from 6.40 million tonnes in the same month last year, the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec) said in its first estimate for the month, released on Tuesday. The comparison is with October 2025.

Corn shipments are also expected to decline, to 5.34 million tonnes from 5.69 million tonnes a year earlier. Sorghum is projected to move in the opposite direction: exports are estimated at 1.439 million tonnes in October. Shipments to China following a 2026 agreement between the countries are supporting that trade.

Anec data show that Brazilian sorghum exports in the previous two months were already strong, bringing the year-to-date total to nearly 2.5 million tonnes, compared with no shipments in the same period of 2025. Soybean-meal exports are forecast to rise to 2.09 million tonnes from 1.73 million tonnes in October last year. The estimates were reported by CNN Brasil and carried separately by Reuters.
