CNN Brasil reported that Anthropic introduced Claude Haiku 5.5 on October 7. In a September 28 announcement, however, the company said the model would join the Claude 5.5 family in the coming weeks.
According to CNN Brasil, the new model is intended for classification, summarization and extraction, as well as live support, voice agents and in-app assistants. The outlet listed a price of $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens for requests shorter than 100,000 tokens. For longer requests, CNN Brasil reported prices of $0.50 and $2.50, respectively.
CNN Brasil also attributed to Anthropic a statement that the model includes safeguards for a narrow set of high-risk cybersecurity requests. The outlet said the company added that most everyday tasks would not be affected.
Anthropic’s official September 28 announcement said Haiku 5.5 would join its lineup in the coming weeks. That timeline differs from the reported October 7 launch. At the time of publication, no independent confirmation of the announcement or the listed prices was found, so the launch and pricing details are attributed to CNN Brasil.
