The Serbian said he would need another strong performance to reach the final.
Novak Djokovic described Daniil Medvedev as a formidable opponent ahead of their ATP 500 Beijing semifinal. The Serbian, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, praised the Russian’s current form and said he would need another strong performance to reach the final.
Djokovic said he would try to arrive on court as fresh as possible. He knows Medvedev’s game well, he said, adding that the Russian had won a tournament the previous week and was comfortable playing in China. Djokovic made no prediction, saying he would have to produce high-level tennis to have a chance of winning.
The Beijing semifinal was scheduled for Monday, October 5.
