Édouard Philippe to open new France 2 political programme

The former French prime minister is scheduled to appear on “L’Heure de vérité” on Oct. 8.

Former French prime minister Édouard Philippe will be the first guest on the new France 2 programme “L’Heure de vérité”. The live broadcast is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8, at 8:40 p.m. local time.

Philippe, who has declared his intention to run in the presidential election, will present his platform and answer questions from journalists and the public. Topics are expected to include pensions, purchasing power, public debt, student protests, immigration, climate policy and wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Caroline Roux will host the programme. The panel is also set to include journalists Maryse Burgot, Neila Latrous, Benjamin Duhamel and Eugénie Bastié, as well as economist and commentator Thomas Porcher. Franceinfo said some questions would be selected from submissions by viewers.
