Turkish-made Togg T10X electric SUV catches fire near charging station

No one was injured. The station operator said the vehicle was not charging when the fire began.

Türkiye’s Togg T10X, the country’s first domestically produced electric SUV, caught fire near a charging station, Al Jazeera reported. No one was injured. The station operator said the car was not charging when the fire started.

The report did not state what caused the fire. Its location near a charging station does not establish whether the battery, charging equipment or another fault was involved; no cause has been confirmed.

Al Jazeera also reported that electric vehicles accounted for 52% of new-car sales in Türkiye so far this year. That figure describes the national market and does not explain the cause of this incident.
