Ella Langley cancels Tulsa concert after threat call police could not substantiate

Ella Langley’s October 9 concert at Tulsa’s BOK Center was cancelled after a caller threatened gunfire and bombs. Police said a second search found no credible threat, but the show did not go ahead.
Captain Richard Meulenberg said officers checked the venue before the concert with dogs trained to detect explosives. The initial search found no reason to cancel, and the event was cleared to proceed.
After the threatening call, officers returned to the BOK Center and searched again. Police said they again found no credible threat and informed the performers. The department said the artist’s team ultimately decided to cancel.
Langley wrote that the decision was made on the advice of local authorities, the venue and her security team. A joint statement from the singer and BOK Center emphasised the safety of fans and staff. The parties therefore described the police role in the decision differently.
A police spokesperson later said the FBI was assisting the investigation without providing further details. Organisers said information on ticket refunds would be announced separately.
The performance was part of The Dandelion Tour supporting Langley’s second studio album. The announced schedule listed the next show for October 10 in Lubbock and the tour’s conclusion for October 31 in Saint Paul. The cancellation concerned Tulsa rather than an announced end to the entire tour.
