The decision was taken by the preliminary investigation judge (Gip) of the Brescia court. The news was first reported by Milo Infante on Retequattro during the programme 'Ore 11' and was confirmed at the courthouse.
The accusation against Venditti concerned an alleged payment intended to secure the archiving of Andrea Sempio in the 2017 investigation into the Garlasco murder.
The alleged offence remains intact but concerns other people, and the case files will therefore be transferred to Pavia.
The Brescia judge's acceptance of the prosecutors' request closes the position of Venditti, while the investigation continues in Pavia.
