The five‑game package will give fans in the Sacramento area complimentary access to a UC Davis team that enters the 2026 season ranked No. 6 in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

The Aggies, under third‑year head coach Tim Plough, concluded the 2025 campaign with a 9‑4 record and secured their fifth FCS playoff berth since 2018, positioning them as a rising program in Northern California.

Scott Warren, regional president and general manager of CBS Sacramento and CBS Bay Area, said the partnership reflects the broadcaster’s commitment to showcasing “the teams, traditions and institutions that matter most to Northern California.” He added that UC Davis is “an important part of the fabric of our region” and that the deal will help connect more viewers with the excitement of the season.

UC Davis director of athletics Rocko DeLuca called the arrangement a “priority” for the department, noting that free, over‑the‑air coverage will expand the Aggies’ reach, engage alumni throughout the Sacramento market and attract new supporters to the program.

The agreement, announced in Sacramento, marks the first time the Aggies will have a dedicated free‑to‑air television slot in the area, potentially boosting attendance at home games and enhancing the university’s regional profile.
