Matteo Salvini, speaking in a video message to the Confederation of Real Estate Owners in Piacenza, said that 6,000 houses occupied without permission have been evicted from 2022 through June of this year.
He noted that many other properties remain under illegal occupation, describing the evictions as a concrete signal of the government’s resolve to protect owners’ rights.
Salvini added that the administration is working to return both primary residences and secondary homes to their legitimate owners, stressing that second homes are entitled to the same legal protections as first homes.
The remarks were delivered at the conference titled “La casa tra norme nazionali ed europee,” which examines the relationship between national and EU housing regulations.
