The closure, scheduled from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, will affect the stretch between Northeast Sunset Drive/SR 900 and Coal Creek Parkway Southeast. All northbound traffic will be detoured, and drivers are warned of lane reductions on Coal Creek Parkway Southeast due to the Coal Creek Sewer Upgrade Project.
WSDOT also listed a series of ramp closures on the affected segment, including the Northport Drive on‑ramp, the 30th St and NE 44th St on‑/off‑ramps (exits 6 and 7), the 112th Ave. SE on‑/off‑ramps (exit 9) and the off‑ramp to Coal Creek Parkway SE (exit 10).
Over the same weekend, crews will work on drainage, repaving and a traffic switch as part of the I‑405/Renton‑to‑Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project, while the Revive I‑5 Project continues to keep two lanes closed on the Ship Canal Bridge through 2026.
Additional overnight lane reductions are planned on northbound I‑405 between Kirkland and Bothell on Sept. 19‑20, with up to three lanes closed from NE 128th St to SR 522 and a rolling slowdown between 12:01 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Eastbound I‑90 near the I‑405 interchange in Bellevue will operate with three left‑lane closures from Friday night to Sunday afternoon for bridge repairs, though at least one lane will remain open. Meanwhile, SR 520 eastbound will lose two right lanes at West Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for bridge deck work.
Other weekend projects include a southbound I‑5 ramp closure at the I‑5/I‑405 interchange in Lynnwood (10 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday), lane closures on I‑5 over Ebey Slough in Marysville, and a ramp closure on SR 7 to eastbound SR 512 in Parkland from Friday night to Sunday morning.
Travelers are urged to plan ahead, expect delays and follow posted detour signage as the extensive construction schedule aims to improve long‑term traffic flow and safety across the Seattle metropolitan area.
