The trio will be sold for €2,820 inclusive of taxes and worldwide shipping, and can be ordered through Awake’s official website. Production capacity limits each model to 100 units per year, making the releases a rare addition to the brand’s catalogue.

Awake’s reputation for its Sơn Mài dials – a labor‑intensive process that layers Vietnamese lacquer, silver leaf and natural pigments – has grown since the brand’s debut in a dimly lit hotel cellar in London in 2024. The Frosted Leaf technique, launched the previous year, earned two awards, including first prize in the Jewellery and Artistic Crafts category at the Timepiece World Awards 2025.

All three watches sit in a newly redesigned 38 × 44.75 mm stainless‑steel case introduced in May, with an 11.5 mm profile, polished concave bezel, satin‑finished flanks and gently rounded lugs. The case is water‑resistant to 100 meters thanks to a screw‑down crown, and houses an automatic La Joux‑Perret G101 movement offering a 68‑hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

The hallmark of each dial is the hand‑crafted Sơn Mài process, which demands roughly 15 hours of work per piece. Master lacquerers harvest the sap of the Rhus verniciflua tree at daybreak in northern Vietnam, collecting only about 200 ml per tree annually. After dehydration, the sap becomes the lacquer medium, into which layers of pure silver leaf and natural pigments are embedded, sanded and polished by hand to achieve depth and luminosity.

The Blood Moon dial draws its palette from a total lunar eclipse, juxtaposing deep black with intense red pigments and flashes of silver leaf to evoke the Moon’s unexpected glow. The Storm model uses black and vivid orange layers that mimic a lightning strike, while the Lagoon dial features translucent greens, turquoises and cobalt blues that shift like tropical waters, revealing hidden depths as the angle of light changes.

Each watch is finished with Awake’s hand‑applied luminous signature: Super‑LumiNova BGW9 under brushed, faceted steel indexes and hands, providing a discreet daytime glow and a soft halo at night. Straps are handmade in France by Maison Bouveret from nubuck calfskin in orange, red or blue‑green to match the dials, and feature a micro‑adjustable buckle with 3 mm increments for all‑day comfort.

The limited‑edition releases are expected to reinforce Awake’s growing following among collectors, who have shown strong appetite for the brand’s brightly coloured, uniquely crafted timepieces since its 2024 debut.
