The procession began at 7:05 a.m. after special pujas were performed for the temple’s presiding deities—Vadapatrasayi Perumal, Sridevi and Boodevi—at the Vadaverunkoil Udaiyan Temple.
With the deities seated inside, the copper chariot was drawn by devotees along the designated Car Streets, a route that attracted scores of participants and onlookers.
Following the chariot pull, worshippers continued their observances with additional pujas inside the temple precincts.
To accommodate the event, town authorities diverted regular traffic, ensuring a clear passage for the chariot and the accompanying crowd.
Andal Temple Executive Officer S. Sakkaraiammal was among the officials who took part in the ceremony, underscoring the event’s significance for the local community.
