In a statement released by DYFI’s Thrissur district secretary K.S. Rosselraj and state president P.H. Niyas, the youth federation said the march will target KILA to highlight alleged violations of recruitment norms over the past four months.
The organisation singled out two recent hires – Mohammed Rashid, known as Rashid Kokkoor, the state treasurer of the Muslim Students Federation, appointed as a coordinator at KILA’s headquarters, and Shafeekh T.K., the MSF Thrissur district president, named coordinator/IT support (technical expert). Both positions, DYFI claims, carry a monthly remuneration of ₹25,000.
According to DYFI, the appointments were made without public notifications, written examinations or interviews, and that candidate shortlists were allegedly being forwarded directly from the Minister’s Office for positions such as the helpdesk. The federation also alleges that candidates who had secured places on official rank lists through notified procedures were removed before the expiry of their contracts.
The youth body further alleges that the appointments favour party workers, citing recommendations from leaders of the Indian National Congress and the Indian Union Muslim League, and that some appointees were promised regularisation during the current government’s five‑year term.
DYFI described the alleged practices as unfair to unemployed youth seeking government and public‑sector jobs and called for an immediate inquiry into KILA’s recruitment process, demanding full transparency and adherence to prescribed procedures.
The planned march adds pressure on KILA and the state administration to address the accusations, with the federation warning that continued irregularities could erode confidence among job‑seeking youth and invite broader scrutiny of public‑sector hiring in Kerala.
