The bank’s communication warned that while banks are making arrangements to minimise inconvenience, branch and office services could be affected during the strike period.

Customers were advised to use digital channels – internet banking, mobile apps, UPI, ATMs and other electronic modes – for any urgent transactions before the deadline.

The Union Forum of Bank Unions has called a nationwide strike for September 28, 29 and 30, prompting banks across the country to alert customers and prepare contingency plans.

Indian Bank’s notice specifically referenced Puducherry customers, reflecting the bank’s role as the region’s lead financial institution and its responsibility to mitigate potential service gaps.

The bank did not indicate any expected closures beyond the strike dates, but emphasized that the extent of service impact would depend on circumstances on the ground.
