The original Blue Yeti, introduced in 2009, remains a go‑to choice for podcasters, streamers and other creators, but Logitech says the new Yeti 2 modernises the classic with several hardware and software upgrades.
A key addition is a 3‑D proximity sensor that tracks the speaker’s position in space and automatically adjusts gain, equalisation and pickup pattern as the user moves, eliminating the need for manual level tweaking. Logitech notes that automatic gain and tracking are enabled straight out of the box.
The microphone also incorporates an onboard AI denoiser designed to suppress background noises such as mouse clicks and keystrokes, aiming to deliver cleaner recordings without extra post‑processing.
On the mic’s 1.3‑inch LED display, a cartoon Yeti mascot provides visual feedback on gain and directional settings, a novelty that Logitech hopes will make the device more approachable; users can also load custom avatars through the G Hub software.
Technically, the Yeti 2 retains a three‑capsule array, supports 24‑bit/48 kHz recording, offers multiple directional modes, and includes a headphone jack for real‑time monitoring. Physical controls feature a capacitive mute button, a dial for manual adjustments and five stored presets.
The new model is available now in black and white finishes and can be purchased directly from Logitech’s website or through third‑party retailers for $160.
