Mullaperiyar Dam’s water stood at 117.75 feet with an inflow of 134 cusecs and a discharge rate of 511 cusecs, according to the latest figures released by the authorities.
Vaigai Dam reported a water level of 42.42 feet, receiving an inflow of 251 cusecs and releasing water at 86 cusecs, comfortably below its maximum allowable level of 71 feet.
Combined storage in the Periyar credit system was recorded at 3,284.89 million cubic feet, reflecting the aggregate water held across the linked reservoirs.
Rainfall in the 24‑hour period ending at 6 a.m. Wednesday was modest, with Mullaperiyar Dam area receiving 2.2 mm and nearby Sothupparai Dam registering just 0.2 mm.
