The special drive, conducted on September 21 and 22, was launched as a preventive and proactive policing measure to maintain law and order across the state, under the direction of Director‑General of Police and Head of the Police Force Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal.
During the two‑day sweep, police teams intensified surveillance and carried out checks on history‑sheet rowdies, habitual offenders and absconding suspects in ongoing criminal cases, ultimately screening a total of 9,329 individuals.
Of those screened, 260 were taken into judicial custody, while police also executed 560 non‑bailable warrants against individuals who had evaded the law.
Authorities say efforts are continuing to locate other absconding accused and to serve the remaining pending warrants, underscoring the operation’s focus on curbing anti‑social elements.
