The centres will operate every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Police said the extension followed requests from the public. Staff can help motorists check pending fines registered against them or their vehicles, including challans generated through Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras and Traffic Regulation Observed Zone systems.
The service also provides information on the amount due and how to pay. Police listed in-person facilities across the city: in the east at ICF Annexure Police Booth in Ayanavaram, Music Academy Police Booth in Royapettah, Greenways Junction Police Booth in Abiramapuram and Tower Clock Junction Police Booth on Anna Salai; in the west at Anna Nagar Roundana, Anna Arch Traffic Police Booth, Maduravoyal Traffic Police Station and Madhavaram Traffic Police Station.
In the north, motorists can visit the Flower Bazaar Call Centre at Elephant Gate Police Station, the Washermenpet Call Centre at New Washermenpet Police Station or the Pulianthope Call Centre at Sembium Police Station. South Chennai facilities are at Mambalam and Adyar police station campuses and the Traffic Mount Sub-Division campus under the Kathipara flyover. The ITMS headquarters at the Commissioner of Police’s office in Vepery is also listed.
Motorists can check outstanding challans through the Parivahan e-Challan portal or NextGen e-Challan. Payments can also be made online through those platforms, through Paytm, at post offices or at Tamil Nadu e-Sevai centres. The police said drunken-driving cases must be settled through the court.
