Flight FZ 1073 was approaching the Jordanian border on 30 September when it began a rapid descent, according to passengers quoted by The Straits Times. Flightradar data cited in the report showed the aircraft dropping from about 10,360 metres to below 5,180 metres in roughly a minute. It later landed in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
Passenger Almog Italie told AFP that people seated near the front helped take control of the situation. Another passenger, Miryam Shira Ohayon, alleged that the co-pilot tried to kill the pilot and bring down the aircraft. The report presents these as passenger accounts and contains no separate confirmation from the airline or authorities.
Passengers said a doctor provided first aid after landing and several people restrained the co-pilot. One passenger had a head wound; witnesses said no one other than the pilot was injured. A video from inside the aircraft, reposted on social media, showed a passenger asking for help and saying the plane was preparing to land in Tabuk.
