Former prison officer Tara Sampson has qualified for the Miss England final after winning the regional Miss Manchester title. Lenta.ru reported her previous work in a prison, citing the Daily Star. The official Miss England site confirms that Sampson is a Greater Manchester Police officer, won the North West regional title and secured a place in the national final.

Sampson told the Daily Star, according to Lenta.ru, that she had never worked as a model and decided to enter the pageant after wondering why she should not give it a try. She said the experience of changing from a police uniform into stagewear was enjoyable and that policing had helped her become comfortable outside her comfort zone and react quickly. She also wants to use the attention around her participation to raise money for charity.

The Miss England final is scheduled for November 17 in Leicester. The winner will have the opportunity to represent England at the Miss World contest in Tanzania in May 2027; the dates and venue are confirmed by the two pageants’ official websites. Two other contestants from the North West qualifier also advanced to the final alongside Sampson.
