France rally to beat Belgium as Italy defeat Türkiye in Nations League

France scored four times in the second half to win 4-1 after trailing at the break. Italy beat Türkiye 3-1 to remain second in Group A1.

France came from behind to beat Belgium 4-1 in the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League. Dodi Lukebakio put Belgium ahead in the 35th minute at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, and the visitors held their lead until late in the match.

Désiré Doué equalised in the 77th minute. Rayan Cherki then put France in front, before Michael Olise scored twice, in the 88th minute and stoppage time. France moved to 10 points and strengthened its lead in League A Group A1. Olise had also scored the winner in France’s 1-0 victory in Brussels when the teams met in the second round.

Italy beat Türkiye 3-1 in Bologna. Gianluca Scamacca opened the scoring in the 26th minute, Aral Şimşir equalised in the 61st, and Riccardo Calafiori restored Italy’s lead four minutes later. Pio Esposito sealed the result in the 87th minute. Italy has seven points, Belgium six, while Türkiye remains bottom without a point after four straight defeats.

Elsewhere on Monday, Cyprus beat Latvia 2-1, Hungary defeated Ukraine by the same score, Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Poland 1-0 and Sweden won 1-0 in Romania. Northern Ireland drew 0-0 with Georgia, as did Montenegro and Armenia.
