Voll century seals Australia’s ODI series win over Bangladesh
Georgia Voll’s unbeaten 131 led Australia to a nine-wicket win over Bangladesh in Brisbane on October 11, securing an unassailable 2–0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
Bangladesh made 220 for six at Allan Border Field after recovering from eight for three in the eighth over. Sobhana Mostary scored 118 from 134 balls and captain Nigar Sultana finished unbeaten on 74 from 114.
Their fourth-wicket partnership of 195 was the highest against Australia in women’s ODI history and Bangladesh’s largest for any wicket. The total was also Bangladesh’s highest against Australia.
Australia’s opening pair set up the chase with 162 runs from 119 deliveries. Phoebe Litchfield made 70 from 51 balls, while Voll finished on 131 from 97 as the hosts reached their target in 28.1 overs.
It was Voll’s third ODI century in her 15th match. The 23-year-old became the first woman to score two ODI centuries at the venue, having made 101 against India there in 2024. Her 131 also set a new individual women’s ODI record for the ground.
Mostary, 24, recorded the highest score by a Bangladesh batter and by a number-five batter against Australia in women’s ODIs. Megan Schutt led Australia’s bowling with four wickets for 36 runs, including Mostary’s dismissal.
Both teams retained their lineups from the opening match, which Australia had won by seven wickets.
