Houthis target Aden airport with two missiles; no casualties reported

Aden’s security media office reported the October 7 attack as the coalition said it intercepted a missile over Saudi Arabia.

Two missiles launched by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis targeted the international airport in the southern port city of Aden early Wednesday, October 7; no casualties were reported, the city’s security media office said. The airport is the main international gateway for parts of Yemen outside Houthi control.

The attack came amid renewed fighting after weeks of Houthi advances along the Red Sea coast. A Saudi-backed government is conducting a counteroffensive with coalition air support. Earlier, the coalition said it had intercepted a ballistic missile launched toward Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia, Saudi state television reported.

After the coalition’s statement, Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV reported a Saudi strike in an area spanning the central governorates of Ibb and Taiz. There was no immediate confirmation from the coalition, Reuters reported.
