
The South Korean automaker sold 76,850 vehicles in Britain during the first eight months of 2026, up 2.3 percent year on year. Its Sportage SUV accounted for about 40 percent of Kia’s sales.
Kia ranked second among automakers in Britain by sales from January through August 2026, according to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. The South Korean company sold 76,850 vehicles over the eight-month period, a 2.3 percent increase from a year earlier.
Only Volkswagen sold more, with 111,830 vehicles. Kia was the sole Asian brand in Britain’s top five, moving up one place from the same period last year and ahead of BMW and Audi.
The Sportage was Britain’s second-best-selling individual model, with 30,564 units sold. Ford’s Puma led the model ranking at 35,968. The Sportage made up about 40 percent of Kia’s UK sales during the period.
Kia has exceeded 100,000 annual sales in Britain for four consecutive years, rising from 100,191 vehicles in 2022 to 113,436 in 2025. If the current trend continues, the company could set a new annual sales record in 2026.
