Police form three teams after attack on Tamil Nadu lawyer

Police formed three special teams to find those responsible for attacking 42-year-old lawyer Thanga Vikraman in Kattumannarkovil. He was seriously injured on the morning of October 9.
According to The Hindu, citing police, the lawyer was stopped on Chetty Street during his morning walk. His attackers struck him with machetes before fleeing, leaving injuries to his face, arms and legs.
Passersby took Thanga Vikraman to the local government hospital and notified police. He was subsequently transferred to Cuddalore Government Medical College and Hospital in Chidambaram for further treatment. He lives in Kattumannarkovil's Kakkan Nagar area.
Investigators suspect the attack may be connected to a dispute involving a theft case from several months earlier. That remains a line of inquiry rather than an established motive. The investigation continues as police search for those involved in the assault.
