A 65-year-old man was found dead in a Woodridge residential complex south of Brisbane. Police have charged a 32-year-old man with murder after arresting him the previous evening.
Police went to a North Road address in Woodridge, in Logan south of Brisbane, at about 7:15am on Tuesday after a request to check on a resident. They found the body of a man identified by Nine News as Tony Cue and declared the site a crime scene.
Police said on Wednesday morning that a 32-year-old man had been charged with murder. He was arrested in Beenleigh at about 7:50pm on Tuesday. Detective Inspector Ian Galpin did not disclose details of Cue’s injuries, telling reporters only that an obvious injury had led police to declare a crime scene.
Neighbours told Nine News that Cue had lived in the complex for more than 30 years and was seen outside his unit watering plants on Monday. The accused is due to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 7. The charge is an allegation and has not been tested in court.
