Moscow to build renovation-program housing in Yuzhnoportovy district

The planned building on Kozhukhovskaya Street will have up to 11,000 square metres of floor area and ground-floor commercial units.

Moscow plans to build a residential block under its housing renovation programme in the Yuzhnoportovy district in the city’s southeast, urban-planning chief Vladislav Ovchinsky said. The site is on Kozhukhovskaya Street and covers 0.21 hectares.

The building will have a maximum floor area of 11,000 square metres. Plans include spacious lobbies, concierge rooms and pram storage, as well as ground-floor commercial premises for pharmacies, coffee shops, parcel collection points and other services.

City authorities say the programme affects about one million residents and involves relocation from 5,176 buildings. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has previously instructed officials to double its pace.
