Murashko says 11.5% of Russians follow healthy-lifestyle principles

About 11.5% of Russians follow the principles of a healthy lifestyle, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said. He said the share should rise by at least half by 2030.

Deputy Health Minister Yevgeny Kamkin read Murashko’s address to participants at the 4th International Congress on Obesity and Metabolic Disorders in Moscow, which runs from Oct. 7 to 9.

Murashko said Russia is expanding its network of health centers and healthy-longevity medicine centers. They assess risk factors and provide personalized recommendations on nutrition, physical activity and other elements of a healthy lifestyle.

The congress program focuses on obesity, metabolic health and prevention of related conditions. The ministry’s report did not specify the methodology used to calculate the share of Russians following healthy-lifestyle principles.
