The NFF sent two requests asking FIFA to review issues involving its Peace Prize, the Folarin Balogun case and FIFA Forward Enterprise.
The Norwegian Football Association (NFF) has sent two formal requests to FIFA bodies, asking them to examine three matters involving FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the organization’s oversight. They concern the FIFA Peace Prize, the reversal of a suspension for U.S. striker Folarin Balogun and the FIFA Forward Enterprise project.
NFF President Lise Klaveness said the federation wants the Ethics Committee to establish the facts and assess whether rules and procedures were followed. She said the association was not asking FIFA to reach a predetermined conclusion. A separate request concerns FIFA’s oversight and decision-making processes.
Balogun was sent off in the United States’ 2-0 round-of-32 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2026 World Cup. FIFA’s disciplinary committee later suspended his ban. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that he had asked Infantino to review the decision. The NFF wants to establish who was involved in the case and whether the process remained independent.
The review also concerns FIFA’s decision to give Trump its Peace Prize. A third issue is FIFA Forward Enterprise, a project to attract private investment and manage commercial rights for major tournaments. FIFA estimated that the initiative could raise $4.2 billion, but it drew criticism from football officials and national associations. The NFF’s requests do not establish that any rules were broken.
