A relative of the Bibas family criticized Israeli authorities over the absence of a state commission of inquiry at a Foreign Ministry event marking the third anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack.
Ofri Bibas called the failure to establish a state commission “running away from responsibility.” She said responsibility should be both Israeli and international, so that such an event would not happen again and children would not become victims of terrorism. The Israeli daily Ynet reported her comments.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Paraguay’s Vice President Pedro Alliana attended the Oct. 7 ceremony. The ministry said Bibas spoke after a video about the family was screened. The event also featured a photo exhibition about the Oct. 7 attack and its aftermath, and diplomats received a photo book by ministry photographer Shlomi Amsalem.
