The Mancha Alviverde fan group said it would make another announcement at noon Tuesday, Brasília time, without explaining the post.
Mancha Alviverde, an organized Palmeiras supporters’ group, posted a cryptic video featuring head coach Abel Ferreira on Monday evening, October 5. Its caption read “Oculi Nostri Vigilant,” Latin for “Our eyes are watchful.”
The post prompted questions from supporters. Some criticized the group for the mystery and for using an AI-generated video. An earlier cryptic message was initially seen as a call for Ferreira to leave, but the group later said its protest targeted what it called the Brazilian football system, including the national confederation CBF and sports tribunal STJD.
The group said it would issue another statement at noon Tuesday, Brasília time. Palmeiras is scheduled to play Bahia at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Nubank Parque.
