Russia has expanded the recommended list of MFC services to include payments for buying or building a home lost in an emergency and for major repairs to damaged housing.
The changes were made by Government Resolution No. 1209 of September 22 and took effect on October 3. The list now covers aid for owners whose homes were lost or damaged because of a natural or man-made emergency, a terrorist attack or its lawful prevention. Owners of damaged housing can apply for a repair payment.
The Ministry of Construction told TASS that the measure is intended to simplify applications and shorten processing times. The ministry said the list is advisory. Applications can also be submitted through the Gosuslugi portal.
RBC estimated annual federal spending on compensation for lost or damaged housing at about 8.5 billion roubles. In March, the ministry proposed raising compensation for homes lost in shelling in new regions to 70,000 roubles per square metre.
