The figures exclude the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Self-sufficiency exceeded 100% in 32 regions and topped 200% in the Bryansk and Astrakhan regions.
The rate was estimated at 101% in 2023. The highest reading in the past 25 years was 110.6% in 2011. The indicator compares domestic production with internal demand under the food-balance methodology; it does not mean that supply is uniform across regions or throughout the year.
