Vladislav Grib says chats, calls and online meetings with parents should not take up teachers' personal time.
Vladislav Grib, deputy secretary of Russia's Civic Chamber, proposed treating teachers' messaging with parents as work time or setting aside specific hours for it. The TASS news agency quoted him as saying so.
Grib said phone calls and online meetings should also take place during teachers' working hours. He suggested allocating about an hour to an hour and a half for chats and direct conversations, arguing that this could prevent teachers from having to communicate with parents in the evenings on their own time.
Grib earlier proposed a separate school initiative: a two-year automotive course for students from ninth grade, including driving instruction and the possibility of receiving a driver's licence after graduation. That proposal is not an existing requirement.
