Pollutant concentrations in the air over the federal territory of Sirius remain below permitted limits, its head Dmitry Plishkin said. He said there is no threat to public health. Kuban News also reported the monitoring figures, while Vedomosti said air and water were being monitored jointly with Roshydromet.

The Liberian-flagged tanker Aframax Rio caught fire on October 6 after an attack by unmanned boats off the Black Sea coast. The Transport Ministry said all 23 crew members were rescued and no one was injured. Oil continued to burn on the water, while authorities said air and water monitoring was ongoing.
