Seven claims have been registered in St Petersburg district courts against concert promoter Say Agency and ticket seller Intickets, with two more filed in magistrates’ courts. Kanye West’s shows scheduled for October 10 and 11 were canceled.
City court press service head Darya Lebedeva said the seven district-court claims were filed in the Vyborgsky, Kalininsky, Krasnoselsky, Moskovsky, Petrogradsky and Primorsky districts. Two additional cases were registered by magistrates.
The lawsuits followed the cancellation of the U.S. rapper’s planned concerts at Gazprom Arena. Say Agency announced the shows in August, but the stadium later said it had no contract with the promoter. Organisers confirmed the cancellation on September 29.
Agency head Anna Subcheva previously described relying on informal arrangements instead of a signed contract as the company’s mistake. Russia’s Federal Bailiff Service said enforcement proceedings to freeze 115,500 rubles in Say Agency accounts began on September 30.
RBC said it had sent questions to Say Agency and Intickets. Their responses were not included in the report.
