Police arrested two men aged 21 and 39 after a witness reported seeing people inside a vacant house in Hönow, east of Berlin. Investigators are checking whether they were involved in two other incidents.
Officers found a backpack containing burglary tools at the house. Police said one of the men was already known to them. The witness called police after spotting two figures inside the building.
About half an hour earlier, an alarm had driven two men away from a property elsewhere in Hönow. Police are also examining a failed attempt to enter a home in nearby Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten on Monday evening. The incident caused about €1,000 in property damage.
