Wallabies target All Blacks’ 53-Test Eden Park streak

Australia face New Zealand at Eden Park on Saturday, October 10, where the All Blacks have gone 53 Tests without a loss. The Wallabies are also seeking to reclaim the Bledisloe Cup for the first time since 2003.

Wallabies coach Les Kiss has kept the starting side that beat the Springboks 42-38 in Perth two weeks ago, with one change. Isaac Henry replaces suspended centre Hunter Paisami. Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii remains on the wing rather than moving into the midfield, preserving continuity in the back three.

New Zealand have reshuffled their playmaking positions after injuries. Fly-half Ruben Love’s season ended with ankle surgery, and Richie Mo’unga withdrew with a calf complaint. Damien McKenzie moves to No. 10, while veteran Beauden Barrett returns at fullback.

All Blacks coach Dave Rennie said the Eden Park streak and New Zealand’s 23-year hold on the Bledisloe Cup had been discussed inside the team. New Zealand have lost four consecutive matches for the first time since 1998, and Rennie said players should be aware of the stakes without letting the record distract them.

Australia must win Saturday’s match in Auckland and the return Test in Sydney on October 17 to reclaim the cup. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. Australian Eastern Daylight Time, Rugby Australia said.
