The state election office says eligible voters removed during the Special Intensive Revision can apply through Form 6 online or through a Booth Level Officer.
The office of West Bengal’s Chief Electoral Officer said eligible voters whose names were removed during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) can submit Form 6 to seek inclusion in the electoral roll. The list of deleted voters is available on the office’s website and on district election officials’ websites.
Applications can be filed online or through a Booth Level Officer (BLO). The office said the first draft roll, published in December 2025, listed more than 5.8 million electors as absent, shifted, dead or deleted. About 2.416 million were classified as deceased, 3.265 million as absent or shifted, and 138,000 entries as duplicate registrations.
After adjudication, more than 2.7 million people were removed from the state’s final roll after being found ineligible. The Supreme Court established 19 appellate tribunals, headed by former Calcutta High Court judges, to review those cases.
The chief electoral officer’s notice did not clarify whether people whose appeals are already before the tribunals can also file Form 6. Former West Bengal chief electoral officer Jawhar Sircar criticized the tribunals and told The Hindu that such appeals should be handled by the relevant electoral authorities.
