Virginia volunteer finds two dogs lost after owner's car crash

Christine Quaiff reunited Annie Olup with two dogs that disappeared after a serious car crash. CBS reported that Tobey was found after 10 days and Bailee after 16.
Olup, 66, crashed during heavy rain in September when her vehicle struck a guardrail and overturned. Both Goldendoodles survived but ran from the scene. Caring for the dogs had become an important part of her life after her husband's death in August 2024.
Quaiff searched around Richmond using drones and wildlife cameras to narrow down the dogs' locations. She set traps, replaced food twice daily, monitored camera footage and sometimes slept in her car near the search area. The volunteer combined the effort with her job in software development. She has helped locate dozens of missing dogs in recent years. Bailee and Tobey are now back home with Olup.
