
One worker was injured when rock collapsed at the Vostochny mine in Primorye. The regional health ministry said he suffered bruises and was not in a concerning condition.
A worker at the Vostochny mine in Russia’s Primorye region suffered bruises when rock collapsed on the evening of October 6. He was taken by ambulance to the Krasnoarmeysk Central District Hospital, the regional health ministry told RIA Novosti.
Twenty-two people were underground at the time of the incident. All were brought to the surface, according to the regional emergency ministry, and there were no deaths. The Primorye prosecutor’s office had earlier reported that one worker was injured.
Authorities have not announced what caused the collapse. Medical staff are providing the injured worker with care; the health ministry said his condition was not a cause for concern.
